Facial Normality Survey – Your Thoughts Wanted

Following on from my surgical work in Africa and the question about what constitutes a normal face – I would like to get your thoughts on the attractiveness of some generic faces. The aim is to compare the British responses to that of Ethiopians to determine whether there is a global, instinctive appreciation of facial appearance or whether this is culturally based.

My team have created an online survey to capture your responses. While the survey may appear long with 50 questions, in actual fact it will only take about 5 minutes to complete because we are most interested in your quick, gut response to the photographs.

Using the same set of questions, I have recently returned from a field trip to the Eastern provinces of Ethiopia to survey the responses of local men and women in these remote areas. 60 questionnaires were completed on that mission! Another field trip is planned soon.

Following is a link to the Facial Normality survey:

At the end of the survey there is a field for providing your name and email address, in case you would like to be notified of the results of the survey after all responses are gathered.

Thank you in advance for your participation in our Facial Normality study.
